The Three Stage Approach

When dealing with conflict management issues we believe in a
Three Stage Approach
Education, Intervention & Maintenance

STAGE 1: Education/ Preventative

All organizations have encountered numerous conflicts both within their organization as a whole, spanning all departments and with various external parties with whom they interact. We have found that during the times of relative quiet, there is an ideal opportunity to take a step back and learn important lessons from previous conflicts recently encountered.

What were the causes of this conflict ? Which methods worked well to resolve the conflict and which were less effective ? What damage was caused by this conflict ? and more..
We will work with you and the members of your organization to learn and improve skills needed to reduce conflict.
We will discuss how all conflicts are not equal. As in parenting, it requires maturity and experience to determine when intervention is required and when the current issue will work itself out, harmlessly.

This is the perfect time to learn and practice skills to identify, cope with and even prevent future conflicts.

During this stage we work with and train first time managers in the critical skills needed to have effective communication, and to create an environment of trust with those they manage as well as with their peers.

STAGE 2: Intervention

In this stage, your organization is experiencing one or more serious conflicts.
It is affecting your work, your productivity, poisoning your team and affecting all your interactions within your organization. Furthermore, whether you realize it or not, the conflict at work has spilled over and it is adversely affecting your private life as well, in obvious and subtle ways.

In this stage, we will help you to best manage and resolve the conflicts you are encountering, while preserving the critical relationships within your company or organization. We will interact with all the concerned parties in a nonjudgmental, safe and confidential environment, to hear everyone out. We need to hear everyone's story, told from their subjective perspective, to gain an understanding of what actually happened and how this conflict developed. Only then can we begin to untangle the knot of this conflict and begin work repairing the relationships and the overall work environment that has been affected.

STAGE 3: Maintenance

In this stage, we will work with you periodically to verify that the conflict that has been resolved in the previous stage actually remains settled; that people and departments are communicating and functioning properly. Our goal is to help people understand effective communication, active listening and hearing others while fostering an environment of trust and understanding where they can hopefully avoid future conflicts.
