When asked, most people find negotiations unpleasant, stressful and either try to avoid it at all costs or once engaged in active negotiation seize the first moment to remove themselves from it, often resulting in a less than favorable outcome then they had originally hoped to achieve in the negotiation.

Very often our emotions and our ego get in the way of successful negotiations.
